1Nephi 3:7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandements unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.

This Week Went by Fast, Aloha Everyone!‏

Thanks mom for your email it was awesome! I love hearing your testimonies and thanks for that scripture, that is a good one.  I'm so grateful to have the family that I have.  I can't imagine what life would be like without you.  I'm am sooooo grateful for everything you do for me and I can't express how much i love you guys.

It's ok about the package, but when you  do send it, I do need protein again.  You don't have to send bars I can get those here now but also I think I am going to have to take P90x from you guys, haha, sorry I need it!
Well it's good to hear that you all are doing good.  It has been an interesting week for this missionary.  No centipedes though haha! I went to Oahu for 2 days so they could give the new missionaries a training.  It was amazing.  It was about the 8 fundamental principals, which are just ways to help you study and teach better of course.  I got to see all my buddies from my MTC district! It was awesome! I love those Elders so much! It was cool to see what they have become, (not much different, except I noticed I wasn't the only one gaining a little weight!  haha).  Elder Brown had to stay here and go on an exchange with Elder Larsen one of the zone leaders.  He is way cool too.  He had served in Ka'u before for 6 months and was stoked to go back.  Then on Wednesday we had zone conference. I wasn't able to go back to my pad for 3 days! They really focused on the basics which is what I need to work on!  I love the Mission President.  He is one of the coolest people and perfect for his job.  He finally came down to Ka'u this week for the first time ever!  We showed him around our pad and the garden and the chapel.  He told us we should tell the bishop to set a new baptismal goal for this year because it is 5 right now and we will probably hit that next month!
We are still hopeful that Candice will be baptized, I fasted for her and so did the whole relief society.  I have faith that Heavenly Father can make it happen, hopefully sooner than later though.  Her daughter Sierra is still going to be baptized this Saturday! Woohoo!  Good for her and when we taught her about tithing she pulled out 6 dollars and put it in an envelope, way cool!  The sad news is that when Kanani's mom learned of Bulu's baptism (they are brother and sister) she won't let Kanani get baptized for now.  Hopefully she will soften her heart.

Oh I almost forgot to tell you about what happened in Ocean View.  It is kind of a cool story.  We were on exchanges so I was with Elder Davis, who is pretty much one of my favorite people, haha, but we were tracting in Ocean View because Elder Brown doesn't like to tract there.  We do these things called windows to heaven, where we prayerfully pick a street to tract while planning at night and then pray the whole day to help us find who is in need on that specific street.  We got to this street and the second house we come to a lady is standing outside and invites us in!  No one does that in Ocean View, they usually just threaten us with their dog or something, haha.  We went in there and started to talk to her and she said she was wondering why it took us so long to find her.  She asked if someone from the ward had told us she was there and we were like... nope.  It is really weird because she has this phobia of going outside her house, even just on the porch and she happened to come out just in time to see us and invite us in.  Also that day, she had a kid named John over there to help her clear a spot in her home for people to sit, she is kind of a hoarder.  It was way cool!  I'm not sure if she will accept the gospel because she believes in weird things and is a feminist so she doesn't like the Priesthood.  I don't like it when people think of the Priesthood like it is a rank or something.  I'm not any better than someone who doesn't have the Priesthood.  It is only used to serve others not me. Anyway I think we might try to teach the kid, John, too.  I'm not sure why yet, but we were supposed to be there.

Again, I am so grateful for what you all do for me and I am so grateful to have been born in this Gospel and be able to accept it.  I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to help others find it, as well.  It is such fullfilling work and I love it even though it's hard, just like every missionary says.  I know that the Priesthood is real and still can't believe that God would trust someone as insignificant as me to have his permission to use his power! This is the only true church.  It is the same as when Christ was on the earth and we are doing the same work also.  I hope you all keep CLINGING to that iron rod because the alternatives, even though they might seem good at one point, will never bring the happiness that this Gospel brings.  I love you all.

...  thank you, i'll be here all week....  hahaha <-- funny joke

I Finally Got Bit By a Centipede!!

Hey everyone.  How's it? We will start by answering my dearest mother's questions

1) Bulu's Baptism went great! Well kind of haha it had to start like an hour late because there was not member of the bishopric to be found but we finally got ahold of bishop.  Our ward mission leader was supposed to be there instead of a member of the bishopric but he called us like 2 or 3 hours before it was supposed to start and canceled so we had to find someone else.  When we finally got everything going it went well.  He had to go under twice though haha.  The first time the guy who was baptizing him couldn't get him under so he was like pushing him down trying to force him under haha and bulu is a very large man so he was struggling.  he pretty much almost drowned him so he decided that was a good time to bring him back up haha he came up and had to do it again because his hand came out.  The second time bulu pretty much through himself back and like hit the bottom of the font and splashed everyone watching.  but all went well and we stayed and ate of course after the baptism.  Oh and guess who confirmed him on sunday! ME! i was pretty nervous but i think i did alright.  Bulu is finally a member!  Now we just hope we can teach his kids.

2) Candice is still doing good. We taught her yesterday her boyfriend was in and out of our lesson.  We taught her about alma 26 which is an awesome chapter if anyone wants to read it. At the end he was asking how someone could all of the sudden change there life like Candice and Bulu have (Bulu is his brother). He kept saying he didn't believe them. He thought they were faking it because they changed so quickly.  I quickly told him it was because of the spirit they feel when they follow the Lord and i told him to read the intro of the Book of Mormon.  I hope he does it.  It's really cool though because Bishop is doing this new thing with the ward where someone takes a Book of Mormon and gives it to somebody that they think may be in need of it.  He was the first to do it and he gave it to her boyfriend, so we are trying to get him to read it and see why Candice has changed so much!

3) I have a Crazy experience for ya! i finally got bit by a centipede!  It killed!  I was in the Hospital for 3 days! they had to cut off my right thumb!... ok maybe not but it still hurt a ton! and it swole up a little but i used the Doterra oils on it and it was fine haha mom you gotta get some.  but i was just sleeping.  Probably having a wonderful dream and it just crawls on my thumb and bites it! what a jerk! so i quickly flipped it in Elder Browns direction haha (not on purpose) but i flipped out and jumped out of bed and turned on the light to see the biggest centipede i've seen yet! it was like 6 inches long!  Elder brown went and grabbed a shoe and smacked it like ten times! the thing wouldn't die! finally it stopped moving and now we were freaking out because we had to go to sleep again haha but we were able to finally fall asleep and not be attacked again.

4) I like that list of things to do to develop the gift of charity mom that is exactly what i have been trying to do.   Patriarcal (is that how you spell that?) blessings are the best things ever! i might have said it before but it's true!  they help so much.  I love teaching the Gospel i must say.  It makes me so happy when you see someone change and see them just figure it out! i love it.  I also love to see how God has everything planned out.  it's almost become a game to me to try and see what is going to happen next or who i will talk to or what i will go through.
5) My insanity workouts have been going very well but as for the whole diet thing... not so good... We have had french toast like a million times and not  just french toast.  French toast with peanut butter, banana, syrup, powdered sugar, and whipped cream... oh man it was good. haha i am getting so chubby i hate that!  i am really gonna try to be better this week.  I just barely got the power bars i don't know why it took so long but it is here now. im ok haha

6) Once again mostly nothing on p day haha.  there just isn't much to do.  oh except i shaved my head! weird huh! i haven't done that since i was like 8. it feels good though and saved me 20 bucks!

Well i think that pretty much covers it.  It was a pretty good week i must say.  I can't believe it is already week 5 in the transfer!  this week and next and it is over!

This just in... i am flying to oahu for a training.  i have to leave for 2 days... ...  It is for all the greenys though so maybe i will see the elders from the mtc! well that's all i have to talk about this week.  love you all.

Don't worry I didn't get eaten by a Massive Wave

I can't believe it is pretty much spring time already! The kids here are already on spring break.  I also can't believe that Alan has malaria, that’s crazy!  I thought that was so funny that mom texted Kalu Oyama to see if i was ok, haha, she loves you mom!  Don't worry though, nothing even happened. It was pretty annoying because the alarm warning went off every hour on the hour, even all through the night... ugh.. and then we had to wake up at 5:00 so we could go to zone conference but then that was cancelled because the airport was closed down. We didn't find this out though until we were like an hour away from our pad. So we just had to turn around and then we didn't have anything planned for that day because we were going to be gone pretty much all day to the zone conference so we drove around and tried to visit people.  It was a very slow tough week.  We had to go to Hilo a lot again and for some reason no one was home ever! We only taught like 5 lessons.  One lady even shewed us away…We knocked on her door and she opened it, looked at our tags, and went "oh no... shew." Hahaha.  That was a new one for me and Elder Brown.  She shewed us like we were pigeons… She even did the little hand flick motion with it.  We did teach Candice and her whole family though and Bulu is still getting baptized this Saturday!  He has been interviewed and we are now working on the program.  That’s real exciting!

Lets answer mother's questions shall we?
The tsunami was fine.  It brought like 10 foot waves! No danger though.
I heard that you facebooked Sister Phillips, did you talk to that lady about the oils?  Get some! They are amazing!

Don't worry about sending the shirts I am ok for now.  I would like you to send me another pair of gym shorts though. Other than that, I think I am good.

That's funny about the Brazil return missionary.  I will probably be struggling with English too considering I am around people who speak “pigeon” all day, haha, which reminds me...

PIGEON WORD OF THE DAY… is “Pau” which means End, Done, Over, Through.  If they were to ask me if I am “done” working, they would say "you pau?" HAHAHA

Well, I think that is all for today.  Oh I almost forgot, thank you for all the pictures!  Loved them!  Tell Bronson he is looking pretty cut and also pretty scary with that shiner.  I love that you sent me a pic of Ty's car too!  That was the best. It was nice to see the dogs, I really miss those guys.

Good luck with real estate.  I love you very much… and for whoever else reads this good luck with whatever you are doing at this point in time.  And don't be afraid to write me!
Hopefully I will have some better news to share next week.

ALOHA! "DAKINE"...

ALOHA!
Wow sounds like it has been a busy week at home.  I hope everything goes well in this next week.  As for me it has been getting a little better.  I am getting to know my comp, Elder Brown a little bit better.  His first name his Chris! Yes, my friends, my companion is named Chris Brown, Hahaha.  He is getting used to Ocean View, everyone has to, haha, it isn't exactly Boise, Idaho.  We are still trying to figure out the area and we are constantly looking on the maps because ironically my memory is still bad as a missionary! Haha

As for the teaching, it is going way better!  We were able to teach 15 lessons which is alright but 20 is better! We will get there soon.  We had to change Candice and Kanani's baptism date to April 2 and were able to get Candice's daughter Sierra a baptismal date on the same day. Woohoo!  Candice has pretty much become like my big sister here, haha, sorry Skye.  I think Skye would actually get along with her pretty well.  She is awesome.

I am in need of more power bars please, I ran out today so if you could send those asap that would be great.  I am gaining so much weight! It is so hard to keep it down when everybody feeds me like I am royalty, haha, but I will keep trying and keep doing my insanity. I have to visualize Dad and Bmoney next to me when I do insanity as it is kind of hard to do it by yourself with no music, so I have to get creative.

I don't really have any other special experiences this week.  Although Bulu’s baptism is coming up two Saturdays from now! Woohoo! He is ready and excited.  He has been through so much.  I'm so excited for him to be baptized.

Today we had a pretty layed back pday so we decided to have a little fun by ourselves because the zone leaders don't want us to come up to Hilo for zone pday because it takes too many miles... ugh... but anyway we decided to try out the mentos and diet coke thing, haha, it was Awesome!  I took video of it so you will be able to see it.

I am running out of time as Skye sent me quite the email, which i am very thankful for, but I am now out of time.

Mahalo everyone!

P.S. I think I am going to start sending a pigeon word of the week.  Pigeon is pretty much hawaiian english japanese and pretty much everything mixed into one and people speak like that here.  The word today is “Dakine” which means pretty much anything, haha, used in a sentence, like… Oh hey could you pass me the Dakine?(ketchup)  OH we are just going over to dakines house (who's ever house you are talking about)  It is pretty much a universal word and I am still confused as you can imagine when people use it. Hahaha
